Blackberry Fall Thanks

Here's another card with the For All Things stamp set.  I just love this set with these colors (Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, and Hello Honey).  They are all current 2014-2016 In Colors and they are my Fall happy colors.  I'm usually a brights kind of girl, but the cooler days and falling leaves help get me in the fall mood which shows in my stamping as well.  Check back a couple of posts for more ideas with this set and these colors (like the card here and another here).  The cards are pretty quick and simple, just stamp, layer some paper, and emboss the background with the Decorative Dots embossing folder.  It's amazing how just switching the card base color really changes the look of the card.  Happy Fall!

Grateful for You

Last night I did a workshop where we did hands-on projects.  Instead of going through a whole spiel, I let the stamps and accessories do the talking.  It was pretty fun to see a few people who hadn't ever stamped try it out and successfully make a card.  The best part was that some of those women bought a few items so that they can continue to stamp!  This is one of the cards that I had them make.

The new In Colors coordinate so well together.  I used Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow, and Blackberry Bliss to give this card a nice Fall feel.  I textured the background with the Decorative Dots embossing folder--I just love how those embossing folders really polish off the card!  Then I tied a bit of Blackberry Bliss ribbon around the card.  I used the For All Things stamp set for a quick and easy focal point and layered that onto Mossy Meadow.  I've used this set along with the same 3 colors for a couple of other cards so keep your eyes open for more ideas.  Happy Stamping!

Hello Fall

This year's In Colors combine to make a perfect Fall combo.  I used Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow and Blackberry Bliss to make this card.  The layout goes along with Freshly Made Sketches #157.  My stamps are from the For All Things stamp set that is found in the Holiday Catalog.  I love how simple the stamping is from that set!  Below my stamped panel, I added a strip of DSP from the Backgrounds DSP stack.  Those are mounted onto Hello Honey card stock and then tied with some Blackberry Bliss ribbon.  I mounted that with Stampin' Dimensionals onto the textured the card base (done with the Decorative Dots embossing folder).

Chevron Pictogram Thanks

I love the new Pictogram Punches stamp set (new as of June)!  Several of the small simple images coordinate with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack which makes stamping and layering the images a breeze!  I find myself punching things out that don't even need to be because it is so easy (like the yellow flowers on this card--they could have just been stamped directly onto the panel but I had already punched them out so I used them).

I stamped the "thank you" stamp from the Hey You set in Strawberry Slush ink and then stamped the vase with stems from the Pictogram Punches set in Pistachio Pudding.  I then added the flowers stamped in Strawberry Slush and Daffodil Delight after I punched them.  One nice thing about adding the flowers after I punched them, as opposed to just stamping them on the white panel, is that they can go over the border of the panel (like the pink flower does).  I layered the panel onto Strawberry Slush card stock and then onto some Pistachio Pudding Backgrounds DSP and then finally onto my white card base that is textured with the Chevron embossing folder.  I've gained a new love for white card bases because they give cards a simple and clean feel.  Happy Stamping!

Strawberry Star Baby

I love the Pictogram Punches set that came out in the 2014-2015 Stampin' Up! Catalog.  I love how there are punches to coordinate with the little star, heart, and flower stamps, but I'm surprised to find that I love those stamps even without punching them out.  I made this card today for the Just Add Ink theme challenge (the challenge this week is Just Add Baby).

I stamped another baby card with this set a couple days ago and it was a boy card, so today I chose colors to make a girl card.  I love Strawberry Slush (one of the 2013-2015 In Colors), so I paired it with Daffodil Delight and Whisper White for a clean and crisp color combination.  I stamped a panel randomly with stars, hearts, and moons, then added a strip of polka dot paper from the Backgrounds DSP stack.  I layered those on Strawberry and Daffodil card stock and tied them up with some Daffodil Delight seam binding ribbon.  Finally, I mounted all of that on my card base that I textured with the new Lucky Stars embossing folder (from the Holiday Catalog).

Saffron Coral Fall

I just received an order of items from the Holiday Catalog and was excited to start playing with the new For All Things stamp set.  I sat down with it and wasn't sure where to start.  Then I saw the colors for this week's Pals Paper Arts Challenge and knew that I had to try them with this set.  I'm so glad I did!  Thanks for the inspiration PPA!

I stamped my images in Calypso Coral, So Saffron, and Early Espresso and then layered them on those same card stock colors.  I used some Calypso Coral seam binding ribbon to tie them all together.  When Calypso Coral first came out, I didn't give it much attention.  Lately I use it a lot, maybe because it pairs so well with Crisp Cantaloupe, but I love it with other colors too.  I stamped the greeting in Early Espresso then punched it with the oval punch, the scalloped oval, and the decorative label punch.  Hope you like this quick and easy card!

Indigo Thanks

Last week I came across this card made by Wanda and knew I had to try making one using the blue and black.  I decided to pair that along with the Freshly Made Sketch challenge and this is what I came up with.  I stamped the watercolor image in Island Indigo for the background using the Work of Art set and then stamped the image from For All Things in Basic Black.  I love the black against the blue, it gives it kind of a shadow look.  I stamped the greeting and punched it with my 1-3/4" circle punch and layered it onto a Island Indigo circle that I cut with the circles collection framelits.  The strips of patterned paper are from the Patterns DSP stacks and the black flower punch is from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.  I love how easily cards can come together with a little help from sketch challenges.

Baby Lagoon

Two days in a row, I posted a card two days in a row!  That's pretty good considering it's been over a year since that has happened.  This blog is called "A Card a Day" and so I'll take it a day at a time and see what I can get done.  I'd love to have time to stamp and share a card every day, but I'll be realistic and say that I'll post when I am able to.  One of the reasons I had such a long absence from this blog was because I had a baby last year and so my stamping time was taken over by other things.  Daily life gets shaken up a bit when another little one is added into the mix.  It's taken a long time, but I feel like things are finally settling down a bit.  I hate to admit that I only stamped 2 cards the entire summer!  Two cards!  Luckily I have been trying to make up for that with stamping cards for the school silent auction in addition to stamping a few cards to add to this blog.

This card is one I made just for fun (and to show on my blog).  No blog challenge, no set intention, just free creative stamping.  I used the new Pictogram Punches stamp set.  I ordered this set on my first order from the new catalog--new as in June, but new to me since I just mounted the set!  I decided to share some baby love and make a card that would be cute for a new baby or it could pass for any occasion.  I stamped the stars in Lost Lagoon and the moons in Hello Honey, both 2014-2016 In Colors.  I added a strip of the Backgrounds DSP stack along the edge and mounted it on Hello Honey before adding the ribbon.  Have you tried the new cotton ribbon?  I think I'm going to like it very much!  I mounted that panel on with Stampin' Dimensionals onto my Lost Lagoon card base that I embossed with the dots embossing folder.   Three of my favorite products are used on this card, stamps (of course), DSP stacks, and embossing folders.  If you haven't used them, go ahead and give them a try!
